Animals in the Womb

When I first saw these photos, I thought that’s a place where the camera shouldn’t be. These animals look so fragile that the photos make me want to hold my breath, not to interfere in any way.

But documenting the phasing of gestation of these mammals wasn’t really intrusive. The researchers used advances in scanning and imaging technology. The documentary footage is actually a combination of digital photography, scans, and computer-generated models.

The photos below come from different documentaries. Unfortunately ‘Animals in the Womb‘ (which seems to me the most beautiful) is not available online, but Extraordinary Animals in the Womb is, and you can watch it below.
